Delicious crispy and slightly spicy salt & pepper chicken wings, perfect to accompany that Chinese style 'Fakeaway'
Makes 6 - Approx. 204 KCal Per Wing
Ingredients (Serves 2-4 - Approx. 204 KCal Per Wing)
2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
6 Chicken Wings
2 Large Eggs
1 Cup Cornflour
1 Tsp Chinese Five Spice
1 Tsp Sea Salt
1 Tsp Ground Black pepper
1 Tsp Ground White pepper
1 Tsp Sugar (or Granulated Sweetener)
½ Medium Onion (Halved & Sliced)
1 Red Chilli (Sliced)
1 Green Chilli (Sliced)
1 Tsp Chilli Flakes
2 Spring Onions (Chopped)
Method
Set out and pat dry your Chicken Wings & set aside.
In a bowl, add the Cornflour, Chinese Five Spice, Sea Salt, Chilli Flakes. Black Peppper, White Pepper, Chilli Flakes & Sugar (or Granulated Sweetener).
In a separate bowl add the 2 Eggs and beat lightly,
Coat each Chicken wing in the Cornflour mixture (Knocking off excess flour), then dip in the Egg mixture (Knock off the excess) and finally coat in the Cornflour mixture a 2nd time (Make sure each Wing is properly coated at the final stage).
Add the wings to the Air Fryer, Skin side up and cook for 10-12 minutes at 200°.
Add the Onions, Red Chilli & Green Chilli and cook for a further 6-8 minutes at 200°.
Add the Spring Onion and cook for a further 1 minute.
Remove the Chicken Wings and place on a plate, tip the Onions, Chilies and Spring Onions from the Air Fryer on the top.
Serve & Enjoy.
Notes: Depending on your preferred level of spiciness, increase or reduce the amount of Chilli Flakes in this dish.
